Everglades
National Park
Everglades National Park is the third largest park in the lower 48, right behind Death Valley and Yellowstone. Spanning 1.5 million acres, most of it wild and unreachable.
Nicknamed the “River of Grass,” the Everglades are a fascinating mix of swamp, prairie, lake, river, and wetland. This one-of-a-kind ecosystem is packed with wildlife, from alligators and migratory birds to rare species like the American crocodile, manatees, and even the elusive Florida Panther.
Everglades At a Glance

Located in southern Florida, there are three entrances to the park. The North Entrance at Shark Valley and the Main Entrance by Ernest F. Coe Visitors Center are closest to the Miami International Airport (1 hour). While the Northwest Entrance in Everglades City is closer to the Naples Airport (45 minutes).

$30 per vehicle for 7 days. Or FREE with the America the Beautiful Pass.

We highly recommend visiting Everglades National Park during the dry season, from November to March. This way you will not only avoid the rain, but also the heat and more importantly, the mosquitos!
Different Areas of the Park

Everglades National Park is divided into four main visitor areas: Royal Palm, Shark Valley, Flamingo, and Gulf Coast. The Flamingo, Royal Palm and Shark Valley areas are most popular due to their closer proximity to the Miami area.
