One of the things we are most excited to experience in Vietnam is the FOOD! Our goal is to try as many local dishes as possible, plus other tasty restaurants, and our time in Ho Chi Minh City was a delicious start!

🍜 Southern style Pho from Phở Hòa Pasteur

☕️ Vietnamese iced coffee (Cà Phê Sữa đá) from Cheo Leo Cafe, the oldest cafe in HCMC!

🍲 Bún thịt nướng from Nguyễn Trung Trực, a delicious street food spot. This was one of our favorite things we have eaten so far!

🥖 Bánh Mì from Bánh Mì Hồng Hoa

🧀 Sandwiches from @kashewcheese, which is cashew based cheese and SO good! Perfect for a picnic at Vinhomes Central Park!

🌮 Tacos from our friend's favorite spot @bandidosaigon. Yes, we had to find tacos while in Vietnam and these were solid!

🐖 BBQ at @quanutut (yes we had to try BBQ too!)...make sure to get the pork belly!

Hello from VIETNAM! 🇻🇳

If you missed our last video, we are spending 6 weeks in this beautiful country and are LOVING it so far! And for our first stop, we spent a few days in Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, where we have two friends currently living (shoutout to Kris and Sarah for showing us around and hosting us! 🙌🏽)

Here's some of what we got up to during our time in Saigon, but to see even more and learn some of the area's history, check out today's video!

🇻🇳 Rode a water taxi from District 2 to District 1, which is a great way to see the city and a cheap way to get between the two!
🇻🇳 Ate LOTS of food! More on what all we tried and loved in tomorrow's post!
🇻🇳 Explored District 1, including the beautiful Tao Dan Park, Post Office, Book Street, People's Committee Building, and Opera House.
🇻🇳 Visited the Reunification (Independence) Palace and War Remnants Museum
🇻🇳 Saw the city from above at the Saigon Skydeck
🇻🇳 Walked around Nguyễn Huệ Street at night, which is hoppin!
🇻🇳 Visited some temples, including the Ten Thousand Buddha Temple.
🇻🇳 Took a day trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels, which were used during the Vietnam War.
🇻🇳 Wandered around the Ben Thanh Market
🇻🇳 Kite flying and a picnic at Vinhomes Central Park

We are heading to ASIA for the FIRST TIME EVER! 🙌🏼🥳

Visiting Southeast Asia has been high on our travel bucket list for years and for the next 6 weeks we will be primarily exploring Vietnam (with two other quick stops) and cannot wait!

But first, we had a long travel journey to get there, including a 17 hour nonstop flight from Seattle to Singapore, plus an overnight layover in the Singapore Changi Airport, which is said to be the BEST in the world! While we have yet to visit every airport in the world, we don't think any other one can top this one.

With gardens, a waterfall, slides, tons of shops and restaurants, fun activities, and so much more, the Changi Airport is one that you actually WANT to be stuck at for hours.

And in today's video we bring you along as we conquer our longest flight ever, explore the Changi Airport, stay in a very small hotel, and make it to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam!

The Florida Keys are a coral reef archipelago off

The Florida Keys are a coral reef archipelago off the southern coast of Florida, stretching over 180 miles, and are home to the only living coral reef formations found in the continental United States, which took 5,000 years to form.

And one of the best days of boat life in the Keys, as well as one of the best days of our entire travels, was getting to snorkel at a reef!

Not only was the water insanely blue and crystal clear, with reefs full of colorful fish, but we got to swim with TWO sea turtles for at least 5 minutes. It was absolutely magical! 😍🐢

A huge thank you to @schoandjo for cruising us out into the Atlantic Ocean to have this unforgettable experience and a big shoutout to Mother Nature for giving us perfect conditions to cruise, snorkel, and swim!

4 people + 1 dog + 1 boat = an epic week of boat life in the Florida Keys! 🛥️☀️🌴🌊

From gorgeous anchorages, falling off paddle boards, swimming with turtles, getting poured on in a dinghy, running low on toilet paper, delicious homecooked meals, fun game nights, cruises full of dancing, and surviving the southern Florida heat with limited showers and AC, we had an absolute blast living aboard @schoandjo’s boat!

Hello from the Florida Keys! 🌴

After getting back from Mexico we spent a few weeks with Kona in Austin before hopping onto a flight to southern Florida to meet up with two very special friends, Jenn and Elliot, also known as @schoandjo!

These two have been living full time on their boat Pivot for two years, just recently completing an epic 6,000 mile journey called the Great Loop! And if you’ve been following us for a while you may remember that back in 2021 we met up with them on their boat for a few days in the Chesapeake Bay and this time we headed to the Keys!

We had the BEST week with these two (plus their 🐶 Ollie!) and cannot wait to share all of our adventures soon, but first, we had a journey to get to them via a plane, bus, train, and Lyft. And you can see it all in today’s video!

Our beautiful home in Mérida! 😍 With a large bedroom, TWO bathrooms, a spacious kitchen and living room, laundry, and a POOL (our favorite part!), we couldn't have asked for a better home away from home during our two weeks in the city.

The owners did such a great job modernizing this place, while still maintaining a lot of charm and a rustic casita feel, with six different tile floor patterns, exposed stone, old doors and windows, fun pops of color, and modern amenities.

While we do miss living and traveling in our van (and will be back in it in a couple of months!), staying in an actual home for two weeks was a nice change of pace. Someone asked how we would compare traveling by van to traveling by Airbnb and now that we have done both, here's a quick pro and con list!

VAN LIFE
➕ We can sleep for free or very cheap
➕ We have our home with us at all times and never have to unpack
➕ Kona can be with us easier!
➕ We sometimes get the most EPIC views from our van (and sometimes it's Walmart 😂)

➖ We have to constantly think about power, water, internet, and where we will sleep at night
➖ We are limited on where we can stay and for how long
➖ It's small

AIRBNB LIFE
➕ You have more space
➕ You don't have to worry about power, water (well, minus purified water in Mexico), and internet
➕ You get to be in the heart of a city and walk everywhere
➕ You don't have to wonder where you'll sleep every night

➖ It is WAY more expensive!
➖ It's not your own home
➖ If you hop around and constantly change Airbnbs, you have to constantly pack and unpack
