After a couple days in the Dolomites, we ventured to Venice for one full day of sightseeing and eating! It was so fun to explore a city that we have seen in movies, tv shows, and even Las Vegas for so long! We had a great morning escaping the crowds and seeing some of the major sights, getting lost, checking out Venice from 99 meters up, and of course, having lots of gelato and other delicious food. 🙂

Do you recommend doing a guided tour of Venice? Or seeing everything on your own?
Hi Cath! We really enjoyed seeing it on our own and just wandering around, but we definitely would’ve learned a lot on a tour. We did some tours in Rome and found them to be super valuable to learn some history, but they are a tad pricey. It could be fun to do a shorter tour of some big historical sights in the AM and then venture out on your own in the afternoon! Our friends LOVED the St. Mark’s Basilica after hours tour: https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g187870-d11462265-St_Mark_s_Basilica_After_Hours_Tour_with_Optional_Doge_s_Palace_Visit-Venice_Venet.html. I hope that helps a tiny bit!
Yess, I was actually looking at that tour! Thank you
You’re welcome! We wish we could’ve done it, but we spent a lot of money on tours in Rome haha
