Luxury Hotels Near Arches National Park

Hoodoo Moab, Curio Collection by Hilton is the most luxurious option of the places to stay near Arches National Park. While it has the highest nightly price of all of the hotels in the area, you will get a nice taste of luxury after a day out exploring Arches. The rooms all offer high-end finishes and many have sweeping views of the orange canyons of the area. Plus, the property has a spa and gourmet restaurant on-site, as well as a great pool to relax at during the warmer months.

Moab Springs Ranch is the other great luxury hotel near Arches National Park, but more for those looking for a more authentic, and less chain-hotel vibe. As the name implies, this property is located on a ranch just outside of Moab on the side of town closer to the park, which makes for a great location. The Bungalows offer 1 room that sleeps up to 4 people and have kitchenettes. While the Townhouses come in one, two or three bedrooms with full kitchens. All units have covered porches, perfect for the morning cup of coffee and free parking. Plus, the property has a beautiful pool and hot tub to relax in after a full day of hiking, 12 acres to explore and direct access to the Moab Canyon Pathway.

Mid-range Hotels Near Arches National Park

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Moab is easily the best option for mid-range hotels near Arches National Park. The rooms can sleep up to 6 people and all have kitchenettes, so you can make some meals if you’d like. They also offer free breakfast and free parking, plus the property is pet friendly. But the best part is the huge resort style pool, perfect for anyone visiting in the warmer months!

Hyatt Place Moab would be another great mid-range option for places to stay near Arches National Park. This hotel also has rooms that sleep 6 people, they allow pets, have free parking, and are located pretty close to downtown Moab. Plus they have an on-site restaurant and a playground!

Field Station Moab is a boutique hotel with probably our favorite vibe of all of the places to stay near Arches National Park! It’s modern and minimalist, geared toward outdoor lovers, with bike storage and a store selling clothes and outdoor gear. They have a variety of rooms, including rooms with bunk beds, perfect for families traveling to Moab. Plus a cafe, pool, and fire pit to enjoy!

Budget Hotels Near Arches National Park

Wingate by Wyndham Moab is one of the best budget friendly places to stay near Arches National Park. Pricing per night is some of the least expensive in town, while still offering clean rooms, good service and a comfortable stay. The property offers an outdoor pool, free parking and fitness center.

But some of the best things about the Wingate? Free breakfast each morning and pets can stay here for free! That’s not a common amenity, so take advantage of it while you can. The only con is that it is a bit outside of town, but still only a 5 minute drive from downtown Moab and 15 minutes from Arches National Park.

The Gonzo Inn is another perfect place to stay near Arches National Park for budget friendly travelers. This property is rated incredibly well while being super inexpensive! We love that the Gonzo Inn is a local hotel (not a big chain) and feels authentically Moab. There’s a pool, free parking, and an on property restaurant. Each room has a patio, and pets are allowed upon request. But the best part about the Gonzo Inn is its location right in the heart of downtown Moab! Just steps from shopping, coffee and restaurants to enjoy.

Luxury Vacation Rentals

Casa Moab is a perfect luxury level vacation rental for 2 people to stay near Arches National Park. This modern property offers a large studio apartment with an open living room, beautiful full kitchen, king bed and modern bathroom. The property is steps from main street and an easy walk to many restaurants and shops in downtown moab. And the best part is the outdoor sauna and outdoor shower that you share with the connecting units.

5 Bedroom Desert Escape is the ultimate option for places to stay near Arches National Park with a large group. This home is the ultimate luxury in Moab! With 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, the house can sleep up to 20 people. Plus there’s many large living spaces, a gourmet kitchen, stunning private pool and hot tub to enjoy! You’ll never be bored here, with a pool table, bocce ball, paddleboards, a firepit, and a pingpong table to enjoy!

Mid-range Vacation Rentals

Moab Flats could not be closer to the heart of downtown Moab! This property has the best location of all, right in the center of town. It’s a cute 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit that sleeps up to 4 people and has a full kitchen and comfortable living room with twin beds that fold out in the common space. It’s the perfect setup for a family of 4 with young kids, or just a group of friends. The property also offers awesome outdoor shared spaces that include a hot tub as well!

Spacious Townhome has everything a large group needs for a place to stay near Arches National Park! This new and beautiful townhome has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and can sleep 8 people. We love how big the common areas are with plenty of space for hanging out, playing board games and eating together. Plus the large deck is a great spot to enjoy your morning coffee or watch the stars at night.

Budget Vacation Rentals

Kokopelli West might be one of the coolest places to stay near Arches National Park for groups of 2-4 people. Perfect for a couple or couple with 2 children, these adorable units include 1 king bed and a set of twin bunk beds. They each have a small but full kitchen, just missing an oven, but has everything else you could need. The units are super new, modern and clean and feature some really fun artwork of the nearby parks on the walls. Plus, there’s a shared hot tub to enjoy after a day at the park!

Canyon Portal would be the perfect home for a large group on a budget looking for the best places to stay near Arches National Park. This house has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths and sleeps 11 people. The location is perfect, in the center of town just a few blocks to main street. The house is large and clean and has a private hot tub and a neighborhood indoor pool to enjoy, all for a great, budget-friendly price!

Campgrounds to Stay Near Arches National Park

For budget travelers, the best place to stay near Arches National Park is at one of the area’s campgrounds. Camping is much cheaper than hotels or vacation rentals, plus gives you the chance to really soak up the scenery that the area has to offer.

Devils Garden Campground

The most convenient place to stay near Arches National Park is in the park itself! Arches National Park is home to one campground, Devils Garden. The sites do not offer any water or electrical hookups and cost $25 per night. But they do have drinking water, picnic tables, grills, and flush toilets.

From March 1 to October 31 the sites can be reserved and those reservations open 6 months in advance. It is highly recommended that you reserve your spot as far in advance as possible, since they are usually full during that time of the year. However, the campground is first-come, first-served between November and February.

You can reserve your site on the recreation.gov website. And if the reservations are full for the time you want to stay, be sure to set up cancellation alerts to find out as soon as a site becomes available. It’s a great way to get a site last-minute!

Up the Creek Campground

The Up the Creek Campground is located right in downtown Moab, a short walk from some of the best things to do in Moab. It is only for walk-in tent campers, so it will not work for those in a van or RV. But with an affordable price, access to a bathroom and shower, and grills, it’s a good choice for those looking for a budget stay in the heart of town.

Moab RV & Glamping Resort

The Moab RV & Glamping Resort is a unique property filled with many different types of accommodations from glamping to RV sites. You won’t find traditional campsites here, as this is more of a luxury “glamping” resort.

But they do have RV sites, plus RVs to rent if you would like to stay in one of theirs. Otherwise, they have basic cabins (without a kitchen) and deluxe tents that are pre-setup and have beds, linens and shared bathrooms.

Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway

The Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway is another good option for places to stay near Arches National Park, since they have more basic accommodations than the prior option. They have many different size RV sites and some small tent sites as well. The whole property is pet friendly, which is definitely important to us and many people visiting Arches National Park.

However, the property here is more luxurious than your average campground since they have a pool, hot tub, dog park and more! So expect higher prices.

Under Canvas

Located just north of Moab, on the side closer to Arches is Under Canvas. This is one of our favorite places to stay near Arches National Park as it’s a unique and luxurious campground. Each “tent” is complete with private bathrooms, fire pits, clean sheets, and many more amenities. It’s not exactly “roughing it” and it’s not cheap, but we bet it is a nice experience, so we’d love to stay here sometime.

Williams Bottom Campground

The Williams Bottom Campground along Potash Road is located right across from the river and a short walk from petroglyphs. And not only convenient to Arches National Park, but also to one of the best hikes in Moab, Corona Arch! This campground is first-come, first-served and is pretty basic, with just pit toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. But it is a great option if you are fine with basic camping!

Dead Horse Point State Park

Located close to Arches National Park is Dead Horse Point State Park, which we highly recommend visiting. And it also makes for another option of a place to stay when visiting Arches National Park. However it will require about a 40 minute drive to the park everyday, and is actually a bit closer to Canyonlands National Park. So if you plan on going there as well, then this could be a good option.

The park’s Kayenta Campground has 21 sites which are $50 per night and are equipped for RVs or tents. Each site comes with a lighted shaded structure, picnic tables, fire rings, and tent pads. There is no water at the campground but each site has RV electrical hookups and there are shared restrooms.

Another campground in Dead Horse Point State Park is the Wingate Campground. They have 31 sites total. The 20 RV or tent camping sites are $50 per night and the 11 hike-in only sites are $40 per night. All sites at the Wingate Campground have fire pits, picnic tables under a shaded shelter and access to bathrooms.

Horse Thief Campground

Located about 30 minutes from Arches National Park is Horse Thief Campground. It’s a larger campground with 85 first-come, first-served tent sites, which offer no services, minus pit toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. 

Free Camping

Moab is surrounded by lots of public land, so during our many visits to Moab, we have mostly stayed in our self-converted Sprinter van for FREE at one of the area’s many boondocking spots. Over the years, some of the most popular spots have been converted into paid spots, but there are still lots of choices. Below are some of our favorites!

While boondocking is the cheapest way to visit Arches National Park, a few things to keep in mind:

• These spots do not have any amenities, including bathrooms. So make sure to follow Leave No Trace principles, pack out ALL of your trash, and use wag bags for solid waste.
• Since these are not designated sites you pay for, if you have to leave the spot (and do not leave a tent or a trailer behind), you will likely lose it. Keep that in mind when planning your time and make sure you have backup options!
• Most of these spots require a 30 minute drive to town and Arches National Park.

La Sal Loop Road

Our new favorite boondocking spot near Moab is this spot along La Sal Loop Road. Here you’ll not only have epic views of the La Sal Mountains, but also high up views of the area’s red rocks. The sunsets from here are spectacular!

It is easy to access, as the road to get to it is paved and since it’s located at a much higher altitude than town, it’s the perfect spot to escape some of the heat. 

Klondike Bluffs

One of the most popular free camping spots near Moab is Klondike Bluffs. Because of this, it is a busy spot, with not much privacy unless you drive back further. The road is pretty rough though, so we usually stick to the earlier spots. While not our favorite spot, it is a good option if you just need something easy when arriving late or leaving early. 

The Cow Pasture

While not its technical name, we lovingly call this spot the Cow Pasture because you’re almost guaranteed to have a bunch of cows hanging out outside of your rig. Since this spot is a bit further from town, it attracts less people and we have never had an issue finding a site. Plus, the views are pretty great!
